THE SCORE - HACKS AND VARIANTS

Hacks are rules variants to make The Score ever more your own.  Such as:
  • You Don't Know Everything About Me
Write your Talents down on your sheet but keep the sheet hidden. At the start of the game or during recruitment scenes, reveal one of you Talents. That's why they have you on the crew. When your Talents come up later, reveal them as a surprise - the skill they never knew you had or the weakness you never told them about... (contributed by G.W.)
  • You're The Best I've Ever Met At This
When you get dealt your Talent cards, choose one you don't want for your character. During recruitment scenes, use the remaining Talent as your recruitment of the player to your left. You might even describe the last time you saw them use that skill or how it saved your life. (contributed by G.W.)
Example: You get dealt Driving, Traversing, Forgery and Deep Cover. You explain that you're working as a wheelman for some gangsters, and you're putting together a crew for a job. but you need an expert at parkour. You play Traversing on the player to your left, saying that's why you're recruiting them. You talk about how everyone heard about when they broke into the top of the London gherkin after dropping from a hot air balloon. That's why you need them!
  • The Helicopter Stunt Stays In the Picture
​After writing down your Talents, choose (or choose randomly, or choose randomly without looking, keeping the cards face down) one of your Talents to be your "Sure Thing". Add all the other Talents back to the deck. Shuffle that full deck, remove the four cards that get removed, then add your Sure Thing back into the deck to be shuffled and have the Act cards added. This way everyone gets one Talent they KNOW will come up (good or bad). You can increase the amount of Sure Things if you like, especially for smaller player counts.  This hack stops players in large play count games from not getting any moments in the sun. (contributed by G.W.)
